Hello, I am Marlijn Blöte. Psychologist, with a major in Clinical Development Psychology. at the University of Amsterdam.
From a young age, I have always been fascinated by how we become our ´selve´s, and have our unique identity. Why do we do what we do? Why does one person love being the center of attention, while another can't stand it? Why can the same remark stick with one person for a long time, while another immediately forgets? In short, what makes us the individual that we are. This has always made me very interested in the people around me. Their thoughts, motivations and life stories. It has always given me a new insight into the many types of lives that one can live, and the opportunity to see things differently than I was used to. And thus broaden my world. The choice to study psychology was therefore an easy one.
Since 2019 I have been working in mental health care. In that I have mainly worked within the specialized mental health care with anxiety and mood problems, trauma-related complaints, problems with self-image and personality problems. I absolutely love my job! I believe it is a privilege to dive into someone's private world and to be allowed to investigate why someone experiences things the way they do. For example, repeating the same patterns, relationships not working out or fears controlling life. Together we look at what is needed to put you back in your power and to be able to continue in life with confidence by yourself.

As a therapist I am warm and empathic. I feel it is important for you to feel free and safe with me and within the therapy. I am analytical, efficient and like to tackle things at the core.
